International Mother Language Day is a cyclical event organised by the Institute of Polish Philology and Logopaedics students, doctoral students and employees. It includes a series of workshops for high school students conducted by members of student science clubs, presentation of stands with competitions and prizes, as well as a meeting with a special guest.
The main objective of the event is to promote care for the correctness of the Polish language, shape linguistic awareness and to promote the reading of Polish literature. Moreover, International Mother Language Day is to strengthen the image of the University of Lodz as a thriving cultural centre in the region of Lodz – not only among high school and university students, but also in the non-academic environment.
