DESCRIPTION:On 9 September 2026, the historic Alfred Biedermann's Palace will be transformed into the drawing room of the Lodz industrialist family from more than a century ago. The University of Lodz encourages visitors to attend “Podwieczorek u Biedermanna” [Afternoon Tea at the Biedermanns’], organised as part of the European Heritage Days and the Wschodnia Street Festival. The event is being prepared jointly with “Bibuła” at Wschodnia Street, a branch of the Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek and other partners involved in the celebrations. The programme will focus on the history of the Biedermann's Palace, the heritage of industrial Lodz and the people who shaped the identity of our city.

SUMMARY:Call for UNIC Conference: Entrepreneurial Learning, Arts and Creativity for Inclusive and Sustainable Urban Futures
DESCRIPTION:How can entrepreneurship, arts and creativity contribute to more inclusive and sustainable urban futures? Participants in the third thematic conference of the UNIC Alliance, entitled Entrepreneurial Learning, Arts and Creativity for Inclusive and Sustainable Urban Futures, will explore possible answers to this question. The conference will take place on 23-25 February 2027 at Ruhr University Bochum (Germany). The organisers invite submissions of papers, panels, workshops and other formats presenting research findings and community-based activities. Students, doctoral candidates, researchers, as well as representatives of the public sector and civil society organisations are welcome to participate. By submitting a proposal to the conference, participants may also enter competitions for the best academic paper and the best university-community cooperation project. The deadline for submissions is 14 September 2026.
