Erasmus University Rotterdam – Niderlandy

This university, which was founded in 1913, is of exceptional interest to those who want to make a real impact on communities. Not surprisingly, the university's most popular units include Rotterdam School of Management, The Erasmus School of Economics and the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences.

As many as ten universities, located in major European cities, belong to the European University of Post-Industrial Cities alliance. Each offers unique opportunities – both linguistic and academic – that can benefit all staff and students of the University of Lodz. What is good to know about them?

The university makes sure that each study programme teaches students critical thinking, focused on solving complex problems that the society is facing. Some of the issues discussed during the studies include health care, the role of artificial intelligence, inclusivity and sustainability. These areas are also linked to the large-scale research carried out by EUR scientists. The researchers focus their analyses on well-being and equalisation, choices for better health, AI and modern cities adapted to the needs of their citizens.

  • Rotterdam has the largest port in Europe! Its operation and history can be explored through the National Maritime Museum, where you can enter old boats and see them from the inside.
  • Rotterdam had to be almost completely rebuilt after the Second World War! This means that you won't find too many monuments in the city (apart from the historic Delfshaven), but you will feast your eye on examples of modern architecture.
  • Rotterdam's Markthal has the largest artwork in the world! Apart from offices and shops, the building boasts a painting by Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam, which covers as much as 11 square kilometres!
