Dyrektor CP UŁ w komitecie sterującym EUPRIO

Anna Rolczak, Head of the Promotion Centre, University of Lodz has been appointed a member of the Steering Committee of EUPRIO (European Association of Communication Professionals in Higher Education) – the largest European organisation bringing together dedicated experts in the field of communications, including promotion of science.

The decision was made at the conference in Zurich, the organisation's first meeting in the traditional formula in three years. The head of the Promotion Centre, University of Lodz has been active in EUPRIO for many years, building relationships with the representatives of European universities that deal with promotion in its broad sense. During the conference, together with Marcin Witkowski from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, she led the discussion on diversity management, presenting the University Diversity project, which has been implemented at our university since 2016.

More than 300 people involved in the communication and marketing of European universities attended the conference. This year, EUPRIO has launched a special cooperation programme with universities and institutions from Ukraine. Lectures and workshops during the conference were focused on topics related to the promotion and popularisation of science.

Above all, I am glad that we were finally able to meet each other face-to-face. This is extremely important for improving our cooperation. In EUPRIO, we all realise that efficient promotion of reliable science is now an extremely important mission. We live in times when information needs to be taken care of meticulously, with the recipients who are overloaded with stimuli in mind. There is a lot of fake news in the public space

– says Anna Rolczak.

People dealing with communication at universities face many new challenges related both to the support of scientists in popularising the conducted research results and building the desired image of a given university, and science as such. Thanks to our meetings, cooperation and constant experience exchange, we can perform our daily duties better and more effectively

– she adds.

The actions undertaken within the network activities are in line with the goals set out in the Strategy of the University of Lodz 2021-2030 in the area of internationalisation. Let us remind you that the university has recently become a part of UNIC, i.e. the European University of Post-Industrial Citie. University of Lodz also officially renewed its participation in the Magna Charta Universitatum association.

EUPRIO brings together communication specialists from over 20 European countries, including: Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, France and Poland. It has more than 500 members who meet once a year (excluding the pandemic period) at conferences summing up the year-long cooperation. Anna Rolczak received a recommendation to join the steering committee as a deputy national representative in June this year, during a conference of the PRom association, EUPRIO’s national sister organisation.
