A healthy mind in a healthy body! Studying is not only about mental fitness. If you want, at the University of Lodz you can also take care of your physical fitness. Sports infrastructure of UL will help you accomplish this goal!



Do you know that Jakub Kraska who will represent Poland at the Olympic swimming pool in Tokyo studies at the UL? We also have bronze medal holders at the European Judo Kata Championships (the current European bronze medal holders are seven-time Polish champions!) and the World Academic Champion in shooting - Katarzyna Komorowska. Other students studying in Lodz include: Klaudia Wojtunik - senior vice-champion in 100 m hurdles, Agnieszka Bednarek - Polish under-23 champion in triple jump and Patrycja Skupień - Polish senior bronze medallist in judo. UniLodz representatives during the Polish Open Championships for People with Disabilities took 2nd place in beach volleyball and 3rd place in sitting beach volleyball. We have also titled tennis players, swimmers, runners, judokas, karatekas and volleyball players. It is something to be proud of!

UL Academic Sports Club looks for creative active people, who are passionate about sports, organisation of sports and integration events for students as well as those who want to have influence on student life. If you want to do sport at the University or prove yourself as an organiser of sports events, join the University of Lodz Academic Sports Club (AZS)!




UL Centre for Physical Education and Sports is a modern facility with excellent infrastructure and equipment, where you can spend your time actively. The complex of the UL Centre for Physical Education and Sports is a sports hall, swimming pool and rooms for various sports activities equipped with a number of devices such as e.g., Body Ball balls, dumbbells, Thera Band tapes, mats, steppers, Fit-Ball balls and dumbbells. 

UL students can use the offer of the Centre as part of their Physical Education classes but they can also use it on an additional basis by taking advantage of the discount specially prepared for the student community. The Centre has also prepared a number of discounts for people interested in active recreation from the outside of the University.


As part of Physical Education classes at the UL you can do various sports: volleyball, basketball, yoga, Nordic walking, ballroom dancing, fitness, you can improve your swimming skills, explore the secrets of bridge or self-defence. Useful information on the classes taking place under PE at our University – schedules, information about those running the classes, locations and disciplines you can choose from the offer of the Physical Education and Sports Centre – can be found in the tab of the Centre.
