University of Zagreb – Chorwacja

UNiZG is the oldest and also the largest university located in south-eastern Europe. It was founded in 1669. It has 33 faculties and a wide range of available study programmes and courses, among which the most valued include, for example, agricultural science, food science and technology, mathematics or plant and animal sciences. The three arts academies available at the university – music, dramatic arts and fine arts – are also among the frequently chosen specialities.

As many as ten universities, located in major European cities, belong to the European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition alliance. Each offers unique opportunities – both linguistic and academic – that can benefit all staff and students of the University of Lodz. What is good to know about them?

Did you know?

  • Cannon is being fired every day in Zagreb! The sound of gunfire can be heard at midday. The responsible for it Grič cannon is located on the Lotrščak tower near the Zagreb cable car.
  • Zagreb still uses gas lanterns to light the streets! This means that every day, before nightfall, a number of lamplighters go around the city who manually light 217 lamps and then extinguish them at dawn.
  • Zagreb is called a city of museums! The city is said to have museums for everyone. Among the best-known museums, there are: Museum of Illusions, Museum of Hangovers, Chocolate Museum or... Museum of Broken Relationships!
