Jolanta Chełmińska

President of the Management Board of the Lodz District Branch of Polish Red Cross and a member of the Polish Red Cross Executive Board

Jolanta Chełmińska is a graduate in Econometrics at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz. She started her professional career at the National Bank of Poland. From 1979 she was professionally associated with PKO BP. She became the director of the regional branch in 1998, and the director of the corporate branch of this bank in 2004. On 29 November 2007 Prime Minister, Donald Tusk entrusted her with the function of the voivode, which she held uninterruptedly until December 2015. Jolanta Chełmińska has been awarded for successes in banking, as well as for services to the city – the City of Lodz Award granted by the City Council. On 15 February 2009, she won the 15th edition of the "Łodzianin Roku" plebiscite, organised by the local media. She is the first woman to receive this title. She is a lady of the International Knightly Order Valiant of St George and has been awarded with the Gold Decoration for Merit in Fire Protection. From 2016 to 2018 she was an advisor to the Marshal of the Lodz Voivodeship for cooperation with local governments. Jolanta Chełmińska was appointed the President of the Management Board of the Lodz District Branch of Polish Red Cross in June 2016.

Throughout her professional career, she has been cooperating with various non-governmental organisations and supporting many social, cultural, educational and patriotic initiatives. Jolanta Chełmińska is the Founder of the Kostiuchnówka Foundation.
