Marzena Bomanowska

Director of the Cinema Museum in Lodz

Marzena Bomanowska graduated in cultural studies from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Lodz. She has been a director of the Cinema Museum in Łódź since 1 January 2015. From 2012 to 2014, she was a spokesperson for the National Film School in Łódź, from 1990 to 2012 she worked for Gazeta Wyborcza as a journalist and since 2000 as the head of the culture department. She wrote about art, education, economy, fashion and tourism, co-organised discussion panels and the first five editions of the Energia Kultury for the Łódź cultural event of the year. As an experienced editor, she took care of interns at "Gazeta", many of whom today work in cultural institutions.

In 2006, she received the Złote Pióro (Golden Quill) award for running the culture section of the Łódź edition of "Gazeta Wyborcza" for her professionalism and initiating important campaigns to popularise culture and art. In 2009, she received the MS Award from the Museum of Art in Łódź, and in 2012 the Grohman Award for the book "7 rozmów o Katarzynie Kobro" ("7 conversations about Katarzyna Kobro") awarded by the Łódź Special Economic Zone.
