Malmö University - Szwecja

A university whose goal is to provide students with education and opportunities to participate in research that helps explain, understand and develop society. This is done in an atmosphere of openness, equality and active approach, with emphasis on habits such as critical thinking, reliability or respect for others.

Malmö University takes on the role of an active commentator on reality that promotes a constructive and knowledge-based public debate, highlights the key challenges of our time in relation to the climate crisis, democracy, inclusivity and health. It also ensures the quality of the conducted research by establishing centres, programmes and platforms devoted to the creation of quality science. Some of the most rapidly growing initiatives include: Centre for Sexology and Sexuality Studies, Biofilms Research Center for Biointerfaces, Internet of Things and People, Data Society and Disciplinary literacy and inclusive teaching.

As an extremely young university – it was founded in 1998 – it has a modern infrastructure and a fresh approach to learning. Flexibility, multidisciplinarity and commitment prevail at the university, thanks to which students and lecturers can achieve their intended research goals with ease.

  • Malmö is connected to Copenhagen by a bridge! Öresundsbron is the second longest bridge in the world connecting two countries. It runs for 7845m and over the Sound.
  • A major cultural festival is held there in the summer! Malmö Summer Stage (Sommarscen Malmö) features more than 150 events spread across the city. The repertoire includes concerts by artists from all over the world, theatre for children and spectacular experiments.
  • The Old Town is an island in the centre of Malmö divided into two sectors: the heritage-packed western Gamla Väster and the eastern district revitalised in the 1960s.
