During the training, participants will learn about the experiences of the UNIC Alliance partner universities in creating more open and welcoming academic environments. The event will also provide an opportunity to exchange good practices and discuss institutional solutions that support diversity, a value that strengthens our communities and contributes to shared development.

Main topics of the training:

  • the role of the Bologna Process in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in higher education;
  • superdiversity and intersectionality as tools for better understanding the diversity of academic communities and for developing effective D&I policies;
  • the experience of the University of Oulu (Finland) in preparing an equality and diversity action plan and implementing its principles within university policies;
  • ways of strengthening university staff competences that help build a more open, inclusive, and international environment for learning, research, and work.
