The University of Lodz is a constantly evolving community, whose history dates back to 24 May 1945. Although relatively young, we are one of the largest universities in Poland, with over 26,000 students enrolled in 12 faculties and the Tomaszów Mazowiecki Branch. The educational process is supported by nearly 4,000 staff members, over 2,000 of whom are involved in teaching.
We all bravely take on new challenges and are open to cooperation and development.
Lodz is our place on the map – a city that combines the spirit of modernity with industrial and artistic heritage. Here, in a space full of contrasts, we are building a university that strives to be close to people.
We believe that a university is not made of buildings and procedures, but of people with their stories, experiences and commitment. Ultimately, it is relationships, cooperation and openness that constitute the true, lasting foundations of a community – not bricks and mortar.
In accordance with the belief that people are more important than processes, we embrace a "back to human" approach. This means that at the University of Lodz, we not only teach and conduct research, but above all, we listen, support and build an environment where every voice matters.
Our strength lies in diversity – cultural, linguistic, generational and worldview. We draw from this diversity with respect for the identity of every person who contributes to our community –whether through studying, working, pursuing a PhD degree, or simply being one of our graduates.
Every day, we develop with the values that unite us in mind:
- courage to seek new paths,
- curiosity about knowledge and others,
- commitment to the common good,
- mutual respect,
- cooperation that helps us achieve more.
Together, we create the University of Lodz and we would be happy to welcome you into our world.
