The University of Lodz has once again become a partner of the TME Polówka Summer Film Festival. This year, we have jointly created an original section titled OFFLINE. This is a series of five open-air film screenings inviting audiences to slow down, step away from everyday life and look at the world from the perspective of nature.

Chuck Noland is an engineer working for a courier company. His life, both professional and personal, is entirely governed by time pressure and his worldwide travel forces him into frequent separations from his fiancée. One day, the plane he is travelling on crashes. Chuck is the only survivor. After a few days, he reaches an uninhabited land. Far from civilisation, he must fight not only for survival but also cope with loneliness.

Bringing Different Perspectives Together

The University of Lodz is not only a place of acquiring knowledge, but also a space for building relationships and sharing meaningful experiences. This is why we are always eager to engage in initiatives that bring people together and encourage them to discover the city. The Alfred Biedermann’s Palace is one of the most beautiful historic sites on our campus – a place where history meets academic life and events open to residents. This summer, we once again encourage you to enjoy watching films under the open sky together.

See you at the Biedermann’s Palace park!
