The event brought together experts from across Europe to share knowledge and best practices in preparing for and responding to various types of disasters, both those natural and man-made. One of the key topics was preparedness for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats.
Discussions covered, among other things:
- increasing the interoperability of early warning systems,
- development of modern detection technologies,
- strengthening cooperation between scientific institutions and first responder services.
During the event, th team from the Centre also had the opportunity to present and promote its latest research project – UNICOPS, which is a part of the efforts to increase Europe’s resilience to crisis risks.
Participation in the event was an important step towards strengthening the role of the University of Lodz in the European security research space and building international partnerships in the field of innovative solutions for the protection of society.
