Strengthening Global CBRN Preparedness - training in Poland

From 18–22 May, the Central School of the State Fire Service in Czestochowa, Poland, hosted an international training course on situation assessment and sampling in areas contaminated with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) agents. The course was organized by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), recipient of the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize. Our Team Member, Maksymilian Stela, had a honors to be one of the trainers.

The training brought together representatives from 18 States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention. They were representing military forces, fire and rescue services, police, and civil protection organizations from North and South America, Africa, and Asia.

As CBRN threats continue to evolve amid growing geopolitical tensions and the persistent risk of terrorism, enhancing international preparedness and response capabilities remains a global priority. International collaboration, practical expertise, and readiness remain essential pillars of effective CBRN response. This goal is shared by the Biohazard Prevention Centre.
