In recent days, the prestigious journal Innovation: The European Journal of Social Science Research has published an article by Dr. habil. Katarzyna Zajda, Professor at the University of Łódź, entitled Why do social innovations not scale out? A case study of social innovations implemented by rural NGOs from post-socialist Poland.
In the article, the author addresses the barriers faced by rural non-governmental organizations in the process of scaling local social innovations in a post-socialist country, namely Poland. In such countries, the non-governmental sector is weaker than in the so-called “old democracies”; therefore, identifying barriers to scaling social innovations is particularly important, especially in the context of the need to implement them in rural areas.
We encourage readers to explore the article, which is available in open access: Why do social innovations not scale out? A case study of social innovations implemented by rural NGOs from post-socialist Poland
