I teach specialist English and Academic English (English for Academic Purposes). The aim of my work is to prepare students to participate in student exchanges, scholarships, and international conferences, as well as to encourage them to use English in their academic and professional work and for their own development.
I design my own courses depending on the needs of a particular class, so I teach entirely or partially based on materials I create myself. My favorite sources of topics for discussion and language input are TED talks, documentaries, and blogs.
I try to help students develop their language and communication skills, which is why presentations and discussions are a very important part of my classes. I see my role as a “facilitator of the learning process” — someone who supports students in learning independently.
I am a certified TELC examiner and have experience preparing candidates for the IELTS exam.
My interests include, among others, the culture and politics of Asia, the history and culture of the Celts, Jungian psychology, opera music, and world/ethnic music.
