The conference covers a broad spectrum of topics related to the use of technology for social good – from artificial intelligence and data analytics, through solutions for health, education and culture, to sustainable development, smart cities and digital ethics. Organisers emphasise the interdisciplinary nature of the event, combining computer science with social and environmental sciences and public policy.
Community-Based Governance of AI Systems
The conference includes a special thematic track, "Co Gov AI: Community in the Loop Governance in AI-Enabled Socio-Technical Systems" dedicated to the collaborative governance of AI systems with community participation. It is a platform for interdisciplinary research combining computer science, social sciences, public policy and technology ethics. This track was developed by UNIC researchers from the University of Deusto (Basque Country / Spain) and the Malmö University (Sweden). The UNIC Alliance strives to understand the contemporary, technological reality in all its complexity and to address contemporary challenges using a solid body of research.
