Difficulties in Completing a Doctorate, Financial and Living Situation and Career Plans – a Survey Among the UniLodz Doctoral Community Is Underway

The University of Lodz Doctoral Students' Government Council, as part of the activities of the Team for Social Affairs and Professional Development of Doctoral Students at the University of Lodz, is conducting a study of their situation at the University of Lodz. To date, five qualitative focus group interviews have been conducted with students from all four doctoral schools at the University of Lodz, including international doctoral candidates.

During the interview, issues such as the status of doctoral students at the University of Lodz are discussed. An online survey pertaining to the conditions for pursuing a doctorate at the University of Lodz, living conditions of doctoral students, their social security and career plans is currently underway. Doctoral students can find all information about the survey in their e-mail inboxes and on the URSD UniLodz Facebook page.

The study will be summarised in a report that will help identify areas requiring action by organisations representing doctoral students, the authorities of doctoral schools and the university authorities. The report is planned to be presented during a meeting with the University of Lodz Rector’s' Board, scheduled for 20 May 2026. Details coming soon!
