A series of consultations with the team from the Institute of Turbomachinery at Lodz University of Technology, which is preparing the HEART4KID project under the EIC Pathfinder programme is one of the examples. The meeting provided an opportunity to share practical experience gained during the preparation and coordination of the BIO4PAK project, while also supporting another ambitious initiative being developed by the Łódź scientific community.

A visit to the Mossakowski Medical Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw offered an opportunity to learn about best practices in the organisation and operation of a modern vivarium. Discussions focused on, among other things, infrastructure management, biological safety, in vivo research planning and solutions that could support the further development of the Animal Facility at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz.

We are also expanding cooperation with business partners. Contacts with Quba Caffe, initiated during the Natura Food trade fair, have evolved into a service project delivered by the Faculty’s experts concerning the development of a concept for new functional coffees with potential health-promoting properties. At the same time, discussions are underway regarding the formalisation of the partnership and further joint research and development activities.

Each of these examples concerns a different area, yet the mechanism remains the same: a meeting, an exchange of knowledge, the identification of shared needs, followed by the consistent development of an idea.
Cooperation with external stakeholders is not a one-off event or a seasonal task. It is an ongoing process that brings together the commitment of ambassadors, the expertise of the Faculty staff and the potential of our partners.
Science does not slow down during the summer. Neither does cooperation.
