Augmented Science – Free Online Training for Science Teachers

The University of Łódź, together with partners from an international consortium, invites science teachers, educators, and students in scientific fields preparing for a career in teaching to participate in a free online training, to be held on 17 and 24 October 2025. The training is dedicated to the practical use of results from the international project Enriching Learning with Augmented Reality Simulations for Interactive Science. The key output of the project is the Augmented Science application, which enables lessons using augmented reality (AR). Participants will also become familiar with other tools: the WALS platform, an interactive e-Book, and the E-Guide, and will take part in webinars on innovative methods in teaching science subjects.

This training is part of the Erasmus+ project Enriching Learning with Augmented Reality Simulations for Interactive Science (project no. 2023-1-PL01-KA220-SCH-000164042), and is focused on applying augmented reality technology in the teaching of science subjects.

Project Results – Main Focus of the Training

At the heart of the programme is the Augmented Science app, an innovative didactic tool built on AR technology, allowing interactive simulations and visualizations to be integrated directly into lessons. Thanks to the app, students can explore natural and physical phenomena in a hands-on and engaging way, while teachers receive ready-made lesson scenarios and exercise sets.

Because the app is available free of charge, educators are able to use it in their everyday work with students. Uniwersytet Łódzki

Participants will also get to know other project outputs:

  • WALS (Web-based Active Learning System) – an e-learning platform supporting active learning and tracking student progress,

  • an interactive e-Book containing teaching content and lesson scenarios,

  • E-Guide – a methodological guide developed for teachers and learners.

Training Programme

The training requires about 20 hours of participant involvement and consists of three parts:

  • two live online sessions (17 and 24 October 2025, 16:30–19:30 CET),

  • individual tasks carried out using the app and on the WALS platform,

  • opportunities for consultations with project experts.

During the live sessions, there will also be two thematic webinar segments titled “How to use innovative methods in teaching science subjects?” Uniwersytet Łódzki

Benefits for Participants

  • gaining knowledge and skills in applying modern educational tools,

  • being able to introduce AR and active learning methods into everyday school practice,

  • receiving a certificate upon completing the training,

  • free access to all Erasmus+ project outputs.

More information in the enclosed invitation.

Organization and Registration

The training will be conducted in English by members of the international project consortium. Participation and use of the tools are completely free. Uniwersytet Łódzki Registration is open until 15 October 2025. The registration form is available here: https://forms.gle/f6bPxXmmB4BH9WC78
