The interdisciplinary and inter-institutional project entitled “SOWA – Social Resilience Supported by Innovation” will be carried out between 2026 and 2028 with funding from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The project will be implemented in partnership with the Department of Social Ecology at the Institute of Sociology of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, as well as the Observatory for Regional Development and Cultural Heritage at the University of Agriculture in Kraków.
The project will be supported by regional networks of Local Action Groups, with which CEIN has established cooperation agreements.
The aim of the project is to promote knowledge on social innovations as a response to various threats affecting rural and small-town communities. The implementation of social innovations, based on expertise provided by specialists, will contribute to strengthening their social resilience.
The project is led by dr hab. Katarzyna Zajda, Associate Professor of the University of Lodz. The academic coordinator of the project is Dr Agnieszka Michalska-Żyła.
