What is the Eco Corner of Well-Being?
It is an investment that is being created between the recently renovated Student Dormitory No. 9 and the allotment garden area on Pomorska Street. The work is financed by a PLN 20,000 grant from Veolia, as part of its "Together for the Region" programme.
We gained knowledge about… what were the workshops about?
During his presentation, our expert speaker, Konrad Budziński, carrying out his doctoral dissertation at the Department of UNESCO Chair on Ecohydrology and Applied Ecology at the University of Lodz, presented a number of threats to nature and hydrological balance today.
He described the impact of developing cities, as well as mistakes made over the last decades, on the reduction of the water retention capacity of our surroundings, as well as the influence of the urban fabric on the formation of heat islands.
Next, the participants learned about the water cycle in nature and the possibilities of positively influencing this process by creating such projects (flower meadows, new plantings, unpaved paths, soil barium).

Sounds interesting? And that's not all!
Finally, using the examples of the soil barium and wildflower meadows, we learned about the importance of our coexistence with many insect species and how we can help them survive safely in cities.
The final workshop is getting closer and closer!
The final workshop will be held tomorrow, Thursday, 27 November from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m, concluding the workshop series. At the meeting, we will summarize contemporary ecological and ecohydrological problems and present effective solutions to these problems.
See you at tomorrow's workshop!
