The goal of the competition is to promote the art of scientific and didactic editing. The jury consists of specialists from the world of science and representatives of: Polish Chamber of Books (Polska Izba Książki, PIK), Stowarzyszenie Wydawców Szkół Wyższych (the Association of Higher Education Publishers) and the media. The award ceremony took place during the inauguration of the Poznań Book Fair.
About the book:
The book "Umykanie. Pomyślenia z etnografii życia" collects the texts of the recently deceased leading Polish anthropologist – Prof. Wojciech Burszt, which were prepared for publication, commented and narrated by his collaborator, Dr Marcin Kafar.
Prof. Dr hab. Dariusz Czaja from the Jagiellonian University wrote the following about the book:
The book is an important and necessary work in Polish humanities. Such a strong intertwining of "life and creativity" (and in the end: death) gives it a special dimension. Thanks to it, we learn (or remember) about an extremely important (not only in the Poznań anthropology environment) figure of Polish cultural anthropology, whose Wojciech J. Burszta will always remain an indelible part. Moreover, this book can be an invitation to write and edit non-obvious biographies of authors who pursued their work in a scientific idiom.
