It has become a tradition that as an academic community we combine our love of greenery with real support for harmed and needy animals. This year, the collected support was donated to the Association of the Society for the Care of Animals ARKADIA in Głowno and the AZYL Foundation from Łódź.
Green novelties and a unique partner
This year, for the first time, the Łódź Palm House (Municipal Greenery Authority) became a co-organiser of the initiative. Thanks to this collaboration, the fair’s offer was enriched with unique, mature species such as Dracaena reflexa, Aglaonema commutatum and exceptional varieties of ficuses.

We would like to thank the entire #UniLodz community as well as the residents of Łódź and the surrounding area for their remarkable turnout and generosity!
Our record in numbers:
- Animal food: 424,5 kg
- Collected funds: PLN 10, 180.70
Information about the fair
Fair “Take a Plant, Feed a Dog… and a Cat Too” HAS STARTED!
How did we help this year?
In response to your expectations, we introduced new, convenient forms of support in this edition. There were as many as four ways to help:
- Bringing your own plants: Excess cuttings, offshoots, or plants after repotting – cacti, ferns, monsteras and many others. Once placed on the green table, they gained a second life and found new homes.
- “Food for a plant” exchange: In return for a pack of animal food, participants could take home their dream plant. Visitors could choose from specimens carefully propagated, fertilised and watered for months by staff of our Faculty.
- Donations into collection boxes at the stand: Throughout the entire event, it was possible to support the organisations with cash. The collection was conducted using official boxes of the AZYL Foundation (permit no. W 2014/2192/OR) and the Association of the Society for the Care of Animals ARKADIA (National Court Register no. 0000345382).
- Online transfers and BLIK payments: For those who did not have cash or animal food, we introduced the option of quick online transfers and BLIK payments directly to the organisations’ accounts.
Thank you for being with us! Thanks to your involvement, the bowls of animals under the care of Arkadia and Azyl will be full, and their caretakers will receive real support for medical treatment and everyday maintenance. See you next year!
