Since December 2024, the management board of the Łódź Branch of the Society has included four scholars affiliated with the Faculty of Philology at the University of Lodz: dr hab. Ewa Ciszewska, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz (President), dr hab. Jakub Gortat, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz (Vice-President), Dr Olga Wesołowska (Secretary), and mgr Tomasz Poborca (Treasurer).
The Polish Society for Film and Media Studies is an organisation bringing together researchers working in the fields of film, media and audiovisual culture. Its mission is to support the development of research, foster integration within the academic community and promote knowledge of film and media.
A Busy Year!
Over the past year, four in-person research meetings were held. All events took place at the Tuvim Municipal Library in Łódź.

In the upcoming academic year, the Łódź Branch of the Polish Society for Film and Media Studies intends to continue its in-person meeting format as a space for discussion of planned doctoral dissertations, postdoctoral projects, books, articles and other research initiatives.
