The Iranian Spring Celebration (Chaharshanbe Suri)

The main goal of the event is to promote and showcase the rich Iranian culture by presenting its unique traditions associated with the arrival of spring. This celebration also serves as a great opportunity to foster integration within the community of the University of Lodz, encouraging intercultural exchange and strengthening mutual understanding and respect. By taking part in traditional Iranian festivities, participants will not only gain insight into this remarkable tradition but also experience the spirit of joy and renewal that accompanies the welcoming of a new season in Persian culture.

1. Opening (conference room of the Training Centre)
2. Presentation on customs and traditions of the Iranian Spring

• Speaker: Prof. Bahman Jabbarian Amiri, Faculty of Economics and Sociology
• Duration: 30 minutes

3. Outdoor Chaharshanbe Suri celebrations

• Lighting the bonfire
• Traditional Iranian music and dancing
• Refreshments and barbecue
