The jubilee edition of the event brought together researchers from across Poland, providing a forum for presenting the latest research findings, exchanging experiences and discussing contemporary challenges in microbiology, mycology and biotechnology.
The UniLodz Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection was represented by dr hab. Sylwia Różalska, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, Dr Anna Jasińska, Dr Monika Nowak-Marczyk, Dr Marta Nowak-Lange, as well as doctoral students mgr Katarzyna Prochoń, mgr Marta Pietrzak, mgr Anna Lisowska and mgr Dominika Goss.

The plenary lecture delivered by dr hab. Sylwia Różalska, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, entitled “Grzyby entomopatogenne jako źródło bioaktywnych metabolitów o potencjale biotechnologicznym” [Entomopathogenic Fungi as a Source of Bioactive Metabolites with Biotechnological Potential] was a particularly important item on the programme. The presentation focused on the prospects of using these compounds in modern biotechnological solutions.
During the poster session for early-career researchers, mgr Katarzyna Prochoń, mgr Marta Pietrzak, mgr Anna Lisowska and mgr Dominika Goss presented the results of their research. Participation in the session proved particularly successful for mgr Katarzyna Prochoń, who won first prize for her poster entitled “Wpływ inokulacji Priestia megaterium na profil węglowodanów mikrolistków rzodkiewki” [The Effect of Priestia megaterium Inoculation on the Carbohydrate Profile of Radish Microgreens]. Mgr Marta Pietrzak received an honourable mention for her poster entitled “Wpływ metrybuzyny na aktywność metaboliczną Hirsutella spp” [The Effect of Metribuzin on the Metabolic Activity of Hirsutella spp].

We extend our congratulations to all participants and, in particular, the award winners of the poster session. We would also like to thank them for their excellent representation of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the University of Lodz during the jubilee edition of the symposium “Metagenomy różnych środowisk”.
