During the visit, students:
- learned about the organisational structure of MPK and the management of a large, multi-divisional public institution serving hundreds of thousands of passengers daily,
- visited the transport operations department, where they observed route planning, timetabling, and rolling stock coordination,
- saw the traffic management centre – the operational heart of the entire network – where vehicle traffic is monitored in real time across the city,
- toured the tram depot on Telefoniczna Street, learning about the daily maintenance and logistics of rolling stock.
This was not just a fascinating trip but also a clear example of learning outcomes in action!
Students developed competencies in:
- analysing organisational structures of public utility companies
- understanding urban transport and mobility management processes
- identifying operational challenges in managing critical urban infrastructure
- integrating theoretical knowledge with public management practice
- developing a sense of responsibility for urban space and quality of life
Such visits are an integral part of our curriculum, because urban management is best learned in the city itself!
