The meeting began with a presentation of sky animations and visualisations, commented on by Joanna Ślot. Students embarked on a virtual journey through Earth's cosmic neighbourhood – from observing the structure of our planet's magnetic field, through the Aurora Borealis phenomenon, to a visit to the Moon. The realistic effects and multimedia capabilities of the EC1 Planetarium allowed participants to almost "touch" the cosmos.
The second part of the workshop featured a screening of the film "Undiscovered Worlds" presenting modern methods for exoplanet discovery and the latest advances in astronomy.
The workshop provided an opportunity to combine academic knowledge with a modern form of science outreach.
We would like to thank the EC1 Planetarium for their cooperation and all participants for their attendance!
More workshops in the "Universe Around Us" project are coming soon.
