I specialize in andragogy and geragogy. My main research fields include supporting the processes of education and human development in adulthood and old age. The research issues I undertake include multidimensional learning of adults, adulthood and maturity as research categories of andragogy, andragogic auxology, pedagogical monoseology (pedagogical research on loneliness and loneliness), biographical approach in andragogic research, educational and spiritual support for older people (geragogy), adult education methods, andragogical research methodology.

Deputy editor-in-chief of the journal "Nauki o Wychowania. Interdisciplinary Studies", member of the scientific council of the journal "Exlibris Biblioteka Gerontologii Społecznej". Initiator and co-editor of the publishing series: Biography and the study of biography (since 2011) and Reflections on old age (since 2016).

Specialist member of the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, chairwoman of the Gerontology Section (2020 – 2023).

Member of national scientific societies: Academic Andragogical Society, Polish Gerontological Society, Association of Social Gerontologists.

Member of the Institut fur Lebensbegleitendes Lernen in Vienna and the International Society for Research on Solitude.
