Tropikalny kwiecień: podcast i wystawa

April is marked by tropical topics – we started with the opening of the exhibition on Panama and the visit of the Ambassador of this country to the University of Lodz, and then we met Dr Izabela Stachowicz to talk about Venezuela's biodiversity, its (un)sustainable chocolate cultivation and related socio-economic problems. You can watch the exhibition at the University of Lodz Library until the end of April and listen to the podcast even now!

The exhibition entitled "Panama – zachwycająca różnorodność" [Panama – the Delightful Diversity] can be visited during the working hours of the University of Lodz Library until 30 April 2023.

The entire exhibition reflects the extremely complex and rich social and natural landscape of Panama – a country that gained independence a little over 200 years ago, and which in Poland is still most often associated with the Panama Canal. We hope that the exhibition will make the viewers realize that there are more reasons to be interested in Panama

A meeting with the University of Lodz biologist Dr Izabela Stachowicz was another April event. The researcher discussed the topic of Venezuelan cocoa plantations and their impact on biodiversity and the socioeconomic situation of the inhabitants.

The entire conversation (in Polish), which was conducted by Marcin Żychliński – a journalist from Meloradio, was recorded and can be heard on our podcast platforms:
