Aggressive Behaviour

Aggressive behaviour may include threats, verbal abuse, physical aggression, damage to property, or any other actions that create a sense of danger.

In the Event of a Threat to Health or Life

  • Call 112.
    If there is a risk to health or life, do not delay in contacting the emergency services.

Stay Calm

  • Speak calmly and in a controlled manner.
    Avoid raising your voice or making sudden movements.
  • Control your own emotions.
    Try not to escalate the situation.

Do Not Provoke and Do Not Respond with Aggression

  • Do not engage in arguments.
  • Do not respond to aggression with aggression.
  • Avoid provocative comments, judgements or jokes.

Maintain a Safe Distance

  • Observe the behaviour of the aggressive person.
  • Keep a safe distance.
    If possible, ensure that a desk, table, or another item of furniture remains between you and the aggressive person.
  • Do not touch the aggressive person.
  • Do not block their exit route.

Leave the Danger Area

  • If possible, move away from the scene.
  • If you are conducting a class, stop the session and instruct participants to leave the room.

Seek Assistance

  • Notify people nearby.
    Ask for support or assistance in calling for help.
  • Contact the UniLodz Intervention Patrol: 780 701 424.
    The patrol operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • If you are unable to contact the patrol, inform security staff or the porter’s lodge.

After the Incident

  • Report the incident in accordance with the applicable UniLodz procedures.
  • Provide information about the course of the incident and the actions taken.
