Remain hidden until the emergency services arrive or until you receive reliable information that the threat has ended.
Notify the Emergency Services
Call 112 when it is safe to do so.
Provide the most important information:
the location of the incident,
the number of assailants (if known),
the nature of the threat,
the number of casualties.
If you cannot make the call yourself, ask someone else to do so. After leaving the danger area, make sure as soon as possible that the emergency services have been informed.
If You Are Taken Hostage
Stay calm. Do not make sudden movements or raise your voice.
Do not provoke the assailant. Be aware that the situation may last for a long time. Try to remain patient and composed.
Follow instructions. Do not take any action that could be perceived as a threat. If you wish to do something, ask for permission.
Avoid arguments and confrontation. Do not argue with the assailant or try to persuade them. Ask for permission before doing anything.
Focus on survival. Your primary objective is to remain safe until the incident is over.
Behave naturally. If possible, address other people by name and maintain calm interaction with those around you. This may help reduce tension and support a calmer atmosphere.
If You Have No Other Option – Fight

Keep your hands visible. Do not make any sudden movements.
Do not run towards officers. Remain where you are and wait for instructions.
Provide information calmly and clearly. Answer questions to the best of your knowledge.
