Transport In Lodz

Taxi in Lodz

When you arrive in Lodz use only licensed taxi services that belong to corporations and are marked with the emblem of the city. They wait in front of the airport, the train and the bus stations, but you can also order one by phone.

Some suggestions:

Green Cab Taxi + 48 42 666 44 44: www.green-cab.pl

Taxi Novia +48 800 111 111 taxifixy.pl/lodz.php

Rydwany Miasta: +48 512 50 40 30 www.rydwanymiasta.pl

The cost of the taxi should be around 6-8 PLN the moment you get in and then around 2-3 PLN per kilometer. On Sundays and after 10 pm it can be a little bit more expensive – approx. 4 PLN per km. These rates can vary slightly depending on the company.

There are also other alternatives to taxis such as:

  • Uber: Download the app here
  • Bolt: Download the app here

Public Transport in Lodz

The city transport network in Lodz consists of tram and bus services. It is operated by MPK Łódź. (website: www.mpk.lodz.pl/lang.action?lang=en ). The timetables are different for workdays, Saturdays (sobota) and Sundays (niedziela). Full information about tickets, discounts and penalties is available at the Customer Office of MPK-Łódź, ul.Tramwajowa 6, tel. +48 42 672 13 43, kontrolabiletow@mpk.lodz.pl

Trams and buses are in service until midnight and at later hours they are not so frequent. Tickets can be bought in newsagent’s stand, small shops, in machines located next to the most popular stops or on buses and trams in the first carriage. The machines in the vehicles usually accept only cards. Always validate the ticket after you enter the bus or tram. The puncher (usually a brown or orange box at eye level) stamps the date and time on your ticket.

We recommend you download the app “Jak dojade” to check the public transport and purchase tickets: Google Store or Apple. The app is simple to use as it provides you with the navigation systems, informs you of the number of tram/bus you need to take and any possible transfers in case of indirect trams or busses. You can simply buy the ticket by adding your credit card.

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO VALIDATE YOUR TICKET AFTER BUYING IT!

KEEP YOUR TICKET FOR CONTROL!
