The workshop will be held at the Institute of Psychology of the University of Lodz (Aleja Rodziny Scheiblerów 2, room 3.22 [3rd floor]) and will be led by photographers from the University of Lodz – Maciej Andrzejewski and Bartosz Kałużny.
The classes are addressed to those students of the University of Lodz who are interested in photography and would like to broaden their knowledge and develop their skills in this field.
The assumption of the workshop is to reach for the basics of photography as an optical phenomenon that is based on the laws of physics. The whole will be combined with a philosophical reflection on the possibilities offered by the photographic medium – a tool used to describe the present creatively.
During the workshop, the participants will have the opportunity to cross the border between the tool and the imaging process, as well as combine theoretical knowledge with practice through an empirical experience of the nature of light.
Registration is available to the students of the University of Lodz of all faculties interested in photography. Registration would be accompanied by a short questionnaire.
The workshop is limited to 15 people.

MACIEJ ANDRZEJEWSKI
Maciej Andrzejewski is a graduate of the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. He obtained his diploma in the graphic arts and photography studio. At the University of Lodz, he works as a photographer dealing with a wide spectrum of this field, from reportage photography to creating and implementing the concept of image photo shoots.
BARTOSZ KAŁUŻNY

Bartosz Kałużny (PhD) has graduated from American Studies and Mass Media at the University of Lodz. As a university photographer he mainly deals with portrait and reportage photography. His intent is to picture people and places which are in constant flux and cannot be captured once and for all. He is a fan of flash, geometry and Andreas Feininger.
