Welcome to Łódź!

Formerly the industrial capital of the country, today it’s a dynamic hub of creativity, art, and new technologies.

Łódź is a place where historic factories are transformed into modern cultural spaces, and the industrial atmosphere blends with youthful, student energy.

The city is famous for its film heritage, murals, festivals, and unique vibe. You’ll find both a lively city center and numerous parks perfect for relaxing between classes. Łódź is also very well connected — located in the heart of the country, it makes it easy to reach any corner of Poland.

What UniLodz offers

There is a lot of competition in the labour market. Apart from studies you need to have some experience and additional trainings. That is when it is worth using the assistance of the Career Office – they are great and well-informed.

People studying at the University of Lodz can apply for scholarships. These are awarded for academic performance or due to financial hardship or disability.

I love sports! More specifically – I love volleyball. I have been training it from the first year at the Academic Sports Club. The coach is great, sports hall is flawless, I recommend it to all sports fans!

Participants in the programme learn a scientific approach to the subject, creative thinking, planning. By observing the object of their study, they also get to know themselves and test their own abilities.

Great projects, professional experience, brilliant people and the chance to pursue your interests – that is the shortest way to describe Student Science Clubs. I joined one and never regretted it. It's truly something that helps you grow!

There are no experiences more important than those we gain far from home. I went on an exchange to Portugal, and I wouldn’t trade those few months for anything! Once Erasmus, always Erasmus!

You usually hear about mentoring only in corporations, so it was a real surprise that I could take part in it thanks to the University of Lodz. I’m very satisfied with my mentor.

Student Research Grants is a programme that supports academic development, and I appreciate that I had the chance to take part in it. I put a lot of work into my research idea, and I’m glad it was funded by UniLodz.

Study with Us! - UL Values

Our academic DNA is shaped by the motto "Veritas et Libertas" – Truth and Freedom. This guides our actions – both in scholarship and in our relationships. It is complemented by the values that define who we are as a community:

Courage - We are not afraid to ask questions, seek, change and go against the grain when the pursuit of truth, support for others, and building community require it.

Curiosity - We want to understand the world and people – in all their complexity and diversity.

Commitment - we believe that science is born from reliability and responsibility. Collaborative work, perseverance and mindfulness are the foundations of our actions.

Cooperation - We create a space where we don't have to think alike to work together. We learn from one another through dialogue and acceptance.

Respect - We are convinced that each person contributes to the community. Diversity strengthens us, and openness creates a foundation for creative debate and our growth.
