Scope of the conference

The PEC Conference is an annual event devoted to evolutionary biology in its broadest sense, organised in cooperation with the Committee on Environmental and Evolutionary Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It is also an excellent opportunity, especially for young researchers, to establish contacts and develop collaborations.

Outstanding plenary lectures

The even participants will listen to plenary lectures delivered by world-renowned scientists:

  • Courtney Stairs (Uppsala University): "Stealing and dealing: eukaryotic strategies for living without oxygen"
  • Kjetill Sigurd Jakobsen (University of Oslo): "Structural genomic variation in an evolutionary perspective"
  • Luis-Miguel Chevin (University of Montpellier): "Adapting to fluctuating and complex environments"
  • Reto Burri (Swiss Ornithological Institute): "A mosaic of modular variation at a single gene underpins convergent plumage coloration"

Registration and Fees

The event details and a link to the registration form can be found on the CONFERENCE WEBSITE. Abstract submission is open until 15 June 2026. Early bird registration fees are PLN 350 for students/doctoral students and PLN 550 for other participants.
