Piotr Walczak

Acting Director of the Representation of the Supreme Chamber of Control in Łódź 

He completed his studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the University of Lodz and postgraduate studies at the University of Lodz in accounting and financial management as well as crime issues – European Postgraduate Studies in Crime Issues.

Since 1997, he has been involved with the Customs Service as an officer performing tasks in the field of control and combating crime. From 2007 to 2012 and from 2014 to 2017 he held managerial positions in the Customs Service: deputy director and director in the customs chambers in Łódź and Kielce. From 2012 to 2014 he served in the Ministry of Finance, in 2012 he participated in the EU/UNDP EUBAM International Mission to Moldova and Ukraine, where he was responsible for building the Moldovan Customs Service Mobile Groups.

In 2017, he served as a Deputy Head of the Customs Service and Coordinator for the establishment of the Department for Combating Economic Crime in the Ministry of Finance.
Since 22 March 2017, he was a Deputy Head of KAS overseeing the Analysis Department, the Customs Department and the Department for Combating Economic Crime in the Ministry of Finance.

He was awarded the Silver Medal for Service to the Police, the Medal for Service to the Vistula Branch of the Border Guard and the Bronze Badge of Merit of the Customs Service.
On 11 May 2018, he was appointed a Superintendent of the Customs and Border Guard Service in the general corps by the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

In June 2020, he took up the position of Advisor to the President of the Supreme Chamber of Control. He currently holds the position of Acting Director of the Delegation of the Supreme Chamber of Control in Łódź.
