Marek Cierpiał-Wolan, PhD, Professor at the University of Rzeszów, President of the Statistics Poland since January 2025. From 2008 to 2024 he was the director of the Statistical Office in Rzeszów, where he carried out numerous research projects, including on big data and combining data from different sources. As coordinator of the WHO and Statistics Poland methodology team, he co-developed the Refugee Health Survey methodology recommended by the UN Statistical Commission. He has held lectures and internships in prestigious academic centres, including the UK, USA, China and South Korea. Author of more than 150 scientific publications, reviewer of numerous articles in foreign journals. Editor-in-chief of Wiadomości Statystyczne.
