During the "International Staff Week", on 16-20 May 2022, the University of Lodz hosted representatives of partner universities from Turkey, Spain, Armenia, Georgia, Montenegro, Kosovo, France, Kyrgyzstan and Germany (all of them in the photo above, together with the hosts from the UL International Relations Office). They were employees who on an everyday basis deal with international students, student and staff exchange within the framework of international programmes (e.g. Erasmus+) and who are involved in national and international promotion.

The international guests were greeted by the UL Vice-Rector prof. Łukasz Bogucki and the UL Chancellor Kamilla Szcześniak. Anna Rolczak, Head of the Promotion Centre, presented communication strategy and the ways of building the UL brand to the guests, while dr Agata Rudnicka-Reichel discussed the topic of sustainable development of higher education institutions

During five intensive days of their stay in Lodz, the "International Staff Week" participants got familiar with the good practices of the UL International Relations Office pertaining to supporting international students at the university, dealing with exceptional situations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and building internationalisation "at home" using international and domestic projects. The guests took part in a workshop on communication with representatives of "Generation Z" and throughout their stay in Lodz – had the opportunity to exchange their experiences and knowledge.

As part of the "International Staff Week" at the University of Lodz, there was also plenty of space for integration during exercises and meetings, but also during a guided tour of the sights of the city. All the participants agreed that the return to the stationary (on-site) mode of the meetings after a break of more than two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic was what they had long been waiting for.
