The upcoming event will feature five days of meetings between the academic community and representatives of companies and institutions from Łódź and the region. The event will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, and Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz.
The Industry Job Fair, held at various locations across the University of Lodz, is a small-scale initiative that fosters effective communication and precise alignment of expectations between both sides of the recruitment process. Each day of the event focuses on a different group of professionals, enabling effective professional networking.
The University of Lodz consistently develops initiatives that support students and graduates in building their career paths. Events that enable direct contact with representatives of business, the public sector and non-governmental organisations are a key element of these activities. In the rapidly changing labour market, such meetings not only add value to the educational process but also provide significant support in consciously planning a professional future. WorkShows perfectly align with this idea, creating a space for dialogue between education and practice.
As underlined by dr hab. Krzysztof Pabis, the University of Lodz Vice-Rector for Popularisation of Science and Education:
The role of universities today is not only to impart academic knowledge but also to support students in understanding the mechanisms of the labour market and the changes occurring within it. Collaborating with employers allows them to demonstrate which competencies and skills are most in demand in various industries, what career paths are available and how to consciously plan their professional development. This allows students to make informed decisions about both their career direction and the choice of a second-cycle programme that best suits their aspirations and career plans.
The programme will also feature practical support. The event participants will have an opportunity to take advantage of short consultations with career advisors who will help them refine their CVs. Visit the Careers Office team's stand to test their reflexes and observation skills and win prizes donated by the exhibitors.
