Our researchers proudly share their knowledge and engage in hundreds of outreach activities, including participating in general lectures for knowledge-hungry seniors at the Third Age University. At the University of Lodz, we know that knowledge knows no age limits, and students at UniLodz and the Third Age University share a common bond: the courage to ask questions and a curiosity to explore the complexities of the world.
As the motto of the Third Age University says:
There is no better medicine in old age than the Third Age University.
It's never too late to learn, so senior citizens studying at the Third Age University can participate in foreign language classes, where they can learn about culture and new languages: English, German, Spanish, Italian and French. Additionally, they can participate in classes in a variety of areas, from history and biology to medicine, gymnastics and photography, as well as attend other activities such as conferences, choirs and field trips.
The new academic year was inaugurated at the UniLodz W. Szubert Assembly Hall by students of the Third Age University, lecturers and representatives of the University of Lodz Rector's Board, including the University of Lodz Rector, Prof. dr hab. Rafał Matera, who welcomed everyone after the summer break, wishing them interesting activities and good luck in the new academic year.

The inauguration of the academic year at the Helena Kretz Third Age University in Lodz was an excellent opportunity to discuss lifelong learning, social engagement and intergenerational integration.
As leaders in outreach, we strive to educate and shape new generations, while remembering that our educational mission lasts a lifetime, because true curiosity about the world and the desire to acquire knowledge know no age.
