– The Foundation sold the property on Źródłowa Street (near the Solidarności Roundabout) to the city and simultaneously acquired the land at Fabryczna 4, where our BISUL operates. This new ownership status paves the way for further investment, school development and the creation of even better conditions for our students – underlines Dariusz Koperczak, President of the Management Board of the University of Lodz Foundation.
British International School of the University of Lodz (BISUL) was established in 2013 on the initiative of the University of Lodz as a response to the needs of families who were looking for a safe, open place focused on international education. Today, BISUL has nearly 200 students – from preschoolers to high school students from over 25 countries – studying internationally. It's a school where children and young people from over 25 countries learn from one another – not only languages and subjects, but also empathy, curiosity and acceptance of differences. The school's activities are based on the values of the University of Lodz: respect, cooperation and commitment. BISUL employees listen, support and create an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual and emotional development of children and young people.
The acquisition of the property at Fabryczna 4 is the next step in resolving ownership issues surrounding the land on which the University of Lodz buildings are located. The City of Lodz donated over 4 hectares of land within the Lumumbowo student campus to the University of Lodz, which houses the university's student dormitories in July of this year. Previously, the land on which the University of Lodz dormitories stand belonged to the State Treasury. This meant that in each case, the university had to apply for permission to use it (e.g., to put up notices).
