POSITION DESCRIPTION
Managing research, teaching, and administrative matters in the Department of the History of the Polish Language.
Scope of Responsibilities:

Research Activity: I conduct scientific research in the field of historical linguistics, with a particular focus on 16th-century Polish and the language and style of 19th-century artistic prose.

Teaching Activity: I deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops in Polish philology, covering diachronic linguistics (Introduction to Historical Linguistics, The Historical Development of the Polish Language), as well as linguistic master's and bachelor's seminars. Additionally, I teach elective courses (Block B), including The Past in Language, Language in the Past. I also serve as the coordinator for the courses Introduction to Historical Linguistics and The Historical Development of the Polish Language.

Administrative Roles: Since 2024, I have been the head of the Department of the History of the Polish Language.
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
I am a linguist. I graduated in Polish philology from the University of Łódź in 1987. I obtained a doctoral degree in the humanities in the field of linguistics in 2002 based on my dissertation entitled The Style of the Oldest Polish Translation of the Psalter in a Comparative Perspective, supervised by Prof. Maria Kamińska (University of Łódź), with reviews by Prof. Leszek Moszyński (University of Gdańsk) and Prof. Danuta Bieńkowska (University of Łódź).
In 2014, I was awarded a postdoctoral degree in linguistics based on my monograph The Art of Words in Mikołaj Rej’s Works. A Stylistic and Linguistic Study of the David’s Psalter (University of Łódź Press, Łódź, 2013). Since 2017, I have been employed as a university professor.
I am a member of the Polish Linguistic Society, the Łódź Scientific Society, and the Historical Linguistics Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Poznań branch.
Since 2024, I have served as the head of the Department of the History of the Polish Language at the Institute of Polish Philology and Speech Therapy in the Faculty of Philology.
INTERESTS
My research interests focus on issues in Polish diachronic linguistics, particularly the history of the Polish language (historical lexicon and stylistics, the Polish language of biblical translations). I am also interested in linguistic stylistics, the language of writers, and the concept of the linguistic picture of the world.
Hobbies: tennis, volleyball, yoga.
