My research interests include: synthesis, modification, and characterisation of noble metal nanowires and nanoparticles (e.g., Ag, Au). Fabrication of core-shell nanostructures with a metallic core and oxide and organic shells. Investigation of the potential use of fabricated nanostructures for real applications, eg, textile modification. Investigation of the antiviral activity of tannin-modified silver and gold nanoparticles.
Currently, I am a member of the CheMatSustain project team (www.chematsustain.eu).
I teach classes, including lectures on materials chemistry and thin film technology.
