BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

I graduated in

Polish and cultural studies from the University of Lodz, and was a journalist

for “Gazeta Wyborcza” from 1993 to 2011. In 2003, I began working with my alma

mater by running journalism workshops, and in 2008, I was hired at the

Institute of Literary Theory at the University of Lodz, where I work to this

day. For three decades I have been involved in popularizing knowledge about

multicultural Łódź, especially the heritage of Łódź Jews. I was a member of the

Polish-German editorial team of "Kronika łódzkiego getta/Litzmannstadt

Getto Chronicle" (2009). I am also the author of numerous publications,

including "Łódź żydowska"/Jewish Lodz (2009), "Cmentarz żydowski

w Łodzi"/the Jewish Cemetery in Lodz (2010), "Litzmannstadt-Ghetto. Places. People.

Memory" (2020). I have prepared several exhibitions, including those on

Andrzej Bobkowski , Artur Szyk, Jan Karski, Dawid Bajgelman, Marek Edelman, the

script for the documentary film "De Profundis ...", as well as many

artistic activities and projects. In the years 2011-2024 I was the director of

the Marek Edelman Dialogue Center in Łódź.
