Bio
In 2021, I completed my Master’s degree at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection at the University of Łódź, majoring in Biology with a specialization in Environmental Biology.
During my undergraduate studies, I participated in various mycology-related courses offered at the University of Łódź. Thanks to an individualized study program granted by the Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, I was able to further develop my skills in conducting mycological research, both in the field and in the laboratory. I focused in particular on the ecology of macro- and microscopic fungi developing in wood.
Currently, my research centers on the taxonomy and ecology of fungi associated with invertebrates, with special emphasis on interactions between fungi and spiders. In my work, I investigate how pathogenic fungi affect spider populations by analyzing infection mechanisms and fungal survival strategies. I aim to understand how pathogenic fungi shape the population dynamics of their hosts and what roles they play within ecosystems.
Interests
Scientific interests:
• taxonomy, ecology, and distribution of spider-pathogenic fungi;
• threats to and conservation of fungi in Europe;
• diversity and ecology of wood-associated fungi;
• microfungal parasites of plants, insects, and fungi.
