It will be a chance to see behind the scenes of work on a film festival, discover interesting screening recommendations, and learn more about the extensive programme of meetings with filmmakers and professionals from the film industry.
Programme of the pre-event:
- a meeting with film scholar and film producer Gosia Kuzdra (her film TerraViva will have its premiere screening at the Camera Action Festival),
- a film quiz with prizes, including tickets to screenings and books,
- presentation of Jury nominations to members of the Student Research Group of Film Studies at the University of Lodz,
- presentation of the four-day Media Lab workshops addressed to University of Lodz students,
- presentation of the Kamera Akcja Festival programme.
The guest of the event will be Gosia Kuzdra, a film scholar and film producer, former long-serving director of Poznań’s Muza Cinema and co-creator of the film Terra Viva, which will receive its premiere screening during this year’s Camera Action Festival.
Journalism and Media Workshops for Students
The MediaLab workshops are intended for students interested in pursuing a career in the media industry. Throughout the festival, participants will become familiar with the specifics of the profession, the craft of film critics and film journalists, as well as the principles of creating content devoted to cinema. The programme combines workshop sessions with selected festival events.

About the Festival
The University of Lodz has been a partner of the Camera Action Festival for 17 years. This year, the festival will take place from 22 to 25 October at Monopolis, the Lodz Film School and the Museum of Cinematography in Lodz.
