Marta Madejska is a community archivist, researcher, writer, and editor. A graduate of cultural studies at the University of Łódź, she furthered her education by attending a screenwriting and drama workshop at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences and a clerical and archival course at the National Centre for Archival Education of the Association of Polish Archivists. In 2025, she began postgraduate studies in archiving and document management at the University of Łódź.

Author of the reportage book Aleja Włókniarek [Czarne Publishing House, 2018], co-author and editor of the books Wielki Przemysł, wielka cisza. Łódzkie zakłady przemysłowe 1945-2000 [St. Topografie, University of Łódź, 2020] and Proszę mówić dalej… Historia społeczna Muzeum Sztuki w Łodzi [The Social History of the Museum of Art in Łódź] (Museum of Art, 2022). Curator of the exhibition Nie samą pracą człowiek żyje [Man Does Not Live by Work Alone] (Museum of the City of Łódź, 11 June 2025-30 June 2026).

Since 2010, she has been continuously involved with the Topografie Association, where she mainly works on projects related to social archiving and oral history, co-creating the Miastograf Digital Archive of Łódź Residents. In 2017-2019, she was the deputy editor-in-chief of the Łódź Social Newspaper ‘Miasto Ł’; in 2017-2020, she was a museum assistant and curator of the public programme at the Museum Centre of the Museum of Art in Łódź.

Winner of the Golden Exlibris Literary Award and the Point for Łódź Award, nominated for the Identitas Award, recipient of a scholarship from the Visegrad Literary Residencies, the Artistic Scholarship of the Mayor of Łódź, and an artistic residency at the Zamek Culture Centre in Poznań.

She publishes irregularly in Dwutygodnik and on the Miej Miejsce portal, and her texts have also appeared in Wysokie Obcasy, Herito, Dialog, and Widok: Teorie i Praktyki Kultury Wizualnej.

She is a supporter and promoter of the idea that attentive listening is a superpower. She cares for two cats, lots of plants and many analogue social networks.
