Manager and cultural animator, holding an MA in Cultural Studies and Film Studies from the University of Łódź. Since 1999, he has been the owner of the Pro Cinema Artistic Events Agency and the founder of the Charlie cinema. He is also the founder of the Łódź Filmowa Association and the City of Culture Foundation, and a member of the Polish Cinemas Association, the Association of Art House Cinemas, the Piotrkowska Street Foundation, the Forum of Polish Film Festivals, and the Łódź chapter of the Avenue of Stars committee.
Among Sławomir Fijałkowski’s most important projects are the European Cinema Forum “Cinergia” (organised since 1992) and the Polish Film Song Competition “Kamer-TON” (four editions).
For his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Polish cinema, he was awarded the Golden Ticket by the Polish Cinemas Association. He has also received the Polish Film Institute Award for the best art house cinema in Poland (2008; nominated three times). He was honoured with the Łódź Voivodeship Marshal’s Award (2011), recognised twice as a “Point for Łódź”, placed second in the Person of the Year plebiscite, and was named Łódź Citizen of the Year 2017, among other distinctions.
In 2018, he became a VIP Graduate of the University of Łódź and a member of the University Council of the University of Łódź. Since 2021, thanks to the innovative KiNEO platform, he has been managing the Spójnia cinema in Aleksandrów Łódzki. Since 2022, together with the City of Culture Foundation, he has been developing the Culture Hub – the Charlie Cinema Cultural Zone located at Piotrkowska 203/205 in Łódź.
